Inventory Accountant (Hybrid)

Location: Lansdale, PA

*This is a hybrid position. Please note this position would require working onsite at our office in Lansdale, PA for onboarding and training, and then once a week (every Tuesday) after the training period is completed. Working onsite during month end close is also required. Please do not apply unless you are able to work onsite on Tuesdays after the training period and during month end close.*

The Opportunity:

The Inventory Accountant is an integral part of the Finance Team. This position is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and assessing controls over inventory as the key asset in the company. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records via periodic reconciliations, physical inventories, root-cause analysis, and inventory adjustments.

Your Impact:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and values in accordance with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

  • Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of physical inventory counts to system records, investigate and resolve any discrepancies identified

  • Implement and maintain internal controls over inventory to prevent loss and ensure integrity of stock and accounting records

  • Record, review, process, and oversee inventory adjustments including root-cause analysis

  • Develop, implement, and oversee cycle count process and perform audits and assessments

  • Register daily inventory adjustments, obtain approvals following delegation of authority levels

  • Organize and support annual physical counts of inventory both in own and 3rd party warehouses

  • Lead Month-end closing for inventory (reconciliations, inventory reserves)

  • Monitor and analyze production reporting and labor variance with assembly department

  • Update standard labor rates periodically and implement manufacturing overhead cost

  • Participate in warehouse inventory control meetings and additional ad hoc projects

  • Oversee assigned general ledger account reconciliations and detailed account analyses to ensure the integrity of the general ledger accounts

  • Create and implement cross-functional process improvement initiatives around the inventory process

  • Assist the Accounting Manager with account reconciliations

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business or related field preferred

  • In lieu of degree, 3-5 years of GAAP accounting experience; inventory control experience preferred

  • Prior accounting responsibilities in a manufacturing or assembly environment with a focus on inventory controls, inventory management, production control, and labor variance analysis

  • Prior Cost accounting experience is a plus

  • Innovative critical thinking skills identifying and addressing inventory discrepancies

  • Experience in Cost accounting, inventory valuation, variance analysis, internal controls, financial reporting

  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail

  • Solid Microsoft Office Application skills with proficiency in Excel advanced functions, being comfortable with VLOOKUP and pivot tables

  • Professional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams, including production, purchasing, supply chain
